His Holiness the Dalai Lamas Visit to the
Garden City- Bangalore, India |

2nd Dec 2004 was indeed a memorable day for Bangalore as we had the good fortune to be blessed by the visit of His Holiness to Bangalore to deliver his Public address on “secular ethics”.
Over 2 months of meticulous planning and preparation by the dedicated team of Ms. Tara and Mr. Eejong of the Maitreya Project Singapore and the excellent co-operation and team work of all those involved culminated into a very memorable and enlightening afternoon session receiving wisdom and blessings from His Holiness.
The program began with the video presentation of the maitreya project followed by the arrival of His holiness at 2.15pm. The Holiness lighted the Butter lamp and proceeded to his seat and this was followed by prostrations and offering of "Katha" to His Holiness by Ms. Tara and Cherok lama Rinpoche. Ms. Tara Melwani delivered the Welcome address followed by Mr. A.P.Venkateswaran, former Foreign Secretary to the Govt of India.
The Public talk on “Secular ethics” was engrossing and enlightening and lasted for over an hour followed by Q&A from the public.
Cherok Lama delivered the valedictory address and the message from Lama Zopa Rinpoche.
The entire event was co-ordinated and the job of the “Master of Ceremonies (MC)” was handled by me ( Fengshui master S.BS.Surendran.)
The event which had packed audience was organized by the FPMT, co-sponsored by Maitreya Project had the excellent support of Indian Express as Media Partners.
On the 3rd Dec 2004, the Private audience with His holiness at the Windsor manor Sheraton consisted of the Main organizers of the event and Members of the Cho Khor Sum Ling (CKSL) study center Bangalore. His Holiness addressed this small gathering and blessed One and all.
All our hearts were heavy when we bid farewell to His Holiness as we wanted not just to hear more of him but see more of him too. His radiance, his smile his aura and his compassion registered in all of us so strongly and deeply that we all not only felt blessed and fortunate to have had an opportunity to be with him but missed him a lot.
May we carry this blessings for over and we do hope to see His Holiness once again in Bangalore in 2005.
